Weather Adaptive Tourism.

Welcome to Tu Lan Lodge

Tú Làn Lodge is located in Yen Tho village, Tan Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh province, Vietnam, about 70km away from Phong Nha. This is a weather-adaptive tourism model built by Oxalis in November 2022 in Tan Hoa Village – a flood-prone area in Quang Binh. Tú Làn Lodge has 30 rooms, including 10 designed with a modular house model on the mountainside to avoid floods; 10 rooms designed as floating houses to rise up during the flood season; and 10 homestay rooms built from the flood-resistant floating house model of the local people, right in their own homes to serve tourists. Tú Làn Lodge also provides clean water, electricity, and is a temporary shelter for Tan Hoa residents during long and severe floods.

Experience tranquility and natural beauty

From sunsets that paint the horizon with warm, red hues to early mornings watching the clouds dissipate over the distant mountains, there is no shortage of stunning vistas to take in. Take a leisurely walk or bike ride through the valley, past vast grasslands dotted with grazing buffalos, or capture the beauty of the nearby river with a memorable photo.

Nestled in the heart of Tan Hoa valley, Tu Lan Lodge boasts a prime location perched atop a mountainside. The lodge offers guests a high standard of infrastructure, along with a cool breeze during the summer months and protection from seasonal floods. At Tu Lan Lodge, visitors will have the chance to experience the unique culture of the friendly and hospitable local community.

Tan Hoa is a beautiful village with thatched roofs, endless green fields, and a winding Rào Nan river. This is the location of Oxalis Adventure’s famous cave adventure tours to Tu Lan Cave System and Hang Tien Cave, with Tú Làn Lodge built on the hillside with views of the greenfields, village, and mountain ranges. Tan Hoa is also the film set for Hollywood blockbuster film Kong: Skull Island and home to a rare and preserved ironwood forest.

Tan Hoa is becoming a rural tourism village with activities such as cave tourism, homestays, local food, and selling of local products. Oxalis Adventure has introduced the “ATV Quad Bike Tours: Explore the Home of Kong” for visitors to explore the village and its surroundings by ATV quad bike. Come and experience the thrill of exploring Kong’s home and the unique culture and nature of Tan Hoa village.
